ServiceMaster Restorations got a call last Monday, July 9, 2012, from the property manager of a condo association in Marco Island, Florida, for water damage issue. The cause of water damage was a roof drain that was clogged. It resulted the damage from twelfth floor all the way down to third floor of the condo. ServiceMaster extracted the water from the condo and then started the structural drying. ServiceMaster removed and disposed all the wet carpet padding and toe kicks. Some of the drywall needed to be removed for proper drying and will be replaced at a later time. The vanities in the bathrooms and cabinets in the kitchen were damaged from the water and some were removed. The technicians applied antimicrobial solution to avoid mold growth. The technicians set up dehumidifiers and air movers thru out the condos to assist in the drying process.
ServiceMaster’s construction department is currently working with the condo owner to rebuild the damaged areas. They will be replacing all the drywall, baseboards, painting and etc. New vanities were installed in the bathrooms and new cabinets in the kitchen. Also, they will be replacing the carpet padding and reinstalling the carpet. ServiceMaster’s carpet department will then clean and deodorize all the affected carpeting.
