Inspection and Assessment
We’ll come in and thoroughly assess your space to pinpoint exactly where the water damage is and how severe it is. This helps us create a targeted plan to tackle the problem effectively.
We’ll use powerful pumps and vacuums to remove all the standing water from your property. It’s crucial to get this done quickly to minimize damage and prevent the growth of mold.
After the water is out, we’ll bring in industrial air movers and dehumidifiers to dry everything from walls to floors. This step is vital to ensure that no hidden moisture remains that could cause further issues down the line.
We’ll clean all the affected areas to remove dirt and debris. After cleaning, we’ll disinfect to kill any bacteria or mold spores that may have begun to form, ensuring your space is safe and healthy.
Finally, we’ll repair or replace any damaged materials like drywall, flooring, or baseboards. We’ll bring your property back to normal.
Our Response to Condo Water Damage in Marco Island, FL
1. Emergency Contact
On July 9, 2012, ServiceMaster by Wright got a call from the property manager of a condo association in Marco Island, Florida, for a water damage issue. The cause of the water damage was a clogged roof drain. It resulted in damage from the twelfth floor all the way down to the third floor of the condo.
2. Professional Response
ServiceMaster by Wright extracted the water from the condo and then started structural drying. ServiceMaster removed and disposed of all the wet carpet padding and toe kicks. Some of the drywall needed to be removed for proper drying and were replaced at a later time.
The vanities in the bathrooms and cabinets in the kitchen were damaged from the water and some were removed. Our technicians applied an antimicrobial solution to avoid mold growth. They also set up dehumidifiers and air movers throughout the condos to assist in the drying process.
ServiceMaster by Wright’s construction department worked with the condo owner to rebuild the damaged areas. We replaced all the drywall, baseboards, painting, etc. New vanities were installed in the bathrooms and new cabinets in the kitchen. Also, we replaced the carpet padding and reinstalled the carpet. ServiceMaster by Wright’s carpet department then cleaned and deodorized all the affected carpeting.
